Editorial policy

How we decide what counts as true.

A game wiki is only useful if you can trust the difference between “confirmed,” “observed in a test” and “someone guessed.” This page explains our rules.

1. Source hierarchy

  1. Official HoYoverse material — the game website, official news posts, in-game text, store listings, official social accounts.
  2. Direct observation — what the Final Beta build actually displayed. This is strong evidence for the beta, not a promise for launch.
  3. Community documentation — the public Petit Planet Wiki, used under CC BY-SA 4.0. Useful for structured data, but checked against official material where possible.
  4. Press and community reports — labelled as reported, never presented as confirmed.

We do not use datamined files, leaked builds, private beta access or unverified “insider” claims.

2. Status labels

LabelMeaning
ConfirmedPublished by HoYoverse or directly visible in the current build.
Final BetaPresent in the last closed test. Could change at launch.
Pre-releaseAnnounced or present in the build, but not confirmed for launch.
ReportedFrom press or community coverage, not independently confirmed.
UnknownNo reliable answer. We leave it blank rather than guessing.
Not in Final BetaPresent earlier but absent from the final test. Launch status may differ.

3. Beta data policy

Petit Planet has not launched. Most of our numeric data is from the Final Beta (September 20 – October 19, 2026). Beta values are snapshots. We keep the snapshot date visible on every data page and update when the launch build is available.

We do not smooth over conflicts. If two public sources disagree — for example, a total cost stated in a summary versus the sum of a level table — we show the discrepancy and explain which figure we use.

4. Attribution and copying

We write our own explanations, tables and tool logic. Structured data compiled from the community wiki is attributed in the source box and on the sources page. The wiki’s text is CC BY-SA 4.0; game names and assets remain HoYoverse property. We do not scrape and republish other guide sites.

5. Images and media

We use original SVG artwork for the site’s visual identity. Game icons and small character/creature images are used for identification in a fan reference context, with attribution. We do not use ripped promotional art, other sites’ custom graphics or assets whose ownership we cannot identify. If you are a rights holder and want an asset removed, contact us.

6. AI disclosure

AI tools assist with drafting, data normalization and code. A human editor is responsible for the final page. We do not publish AI-generated “facts” without a source, and we do not use AI to fabricate experiences, reviews or test results.

7. Corrections and updates

When we correct a factual error, we update the page and the “verified” date. We do not silently rewrite history. To report an error, email hello@petitplanetgame.wiki with the page URL and a source.

8. Advertising

If ads are enabled, they are labelled and loaded only after consent. Advertisers do not get editorial input. We do not run pop-ups, fake download buttons or deceptive “continue” ads.
