How to catch Black Carp
Use the Fishing Rod. The exact approach depends on the creature’s category and, for shore-dwellers, its species type.
- Cast the Fishing Rod into the right water: rivers and lakes for freshwater fish, coastal waters for saltwater fish.
- Wait for the nibbles, then strike when the line bites down.
- Common freshwater fish and gray saltwater fish can usually be caught straight away after the bite.
First catch: the creature is added to the Omnidex. Offer it to Mors at the Omni-Gallery to put it on display and unlock its Omnipedia entry.

Coolwater Zone · Mylopharyngodon piceus
Black carp enjoy eating hard-shelled snails. Over time, they have evolved a unique, hardened growth in their throat, known as the "black carp stone."
These stones are highly prized in the gemstone market. However, many people don't realize that they're not gems, just fish teeth.
