How to catch Bombardier Beetle

Use the Insect Net. The exact approach depends on the creature’s category and, for shore-dwellers, its species type.

1. Equip the Insect Net and approach the creature at eye level or on the ground.
2. Most insects can be caught with a simple net swipe; slow down if the species is skittish.
3. Check tree trunks, flowers, shrubs, crops and aerial spaces — the habitat column tells you where this species spawns.

Where and when to find it

With a sudden "poof," the Bombardier Beetle sprays a foul, scalding gas produced by mixing chemicals from two special glands.

This gas is so potent that even if the beetle is already in the maws of a predator, the nasty blast will make them spit it back out and run for the hills.

Scientists are currently studying how to mimic this explosive propulsion for high-speed transportation.
