How to catch Mantis

Use the Insect Net. The exact approach depends on the creature’s category and, for shore-dwellers, its species type.

1. Equip the Insect Net and approach the creature at eye level or on the ground.
2. Most insects can be caught with a simple net swipe; slow down if the species is skittish.
3. Check tree trunks, flowers, shrubs, crops and aerial spaces — the habitat column tells you where this species spawns.

Where and when to find it

Habitat: Near Shrubs. Distribution: Hexia.

Season: Year-Round. Time: All Day. Weather: Any Weather. If two of those tags are restrictive, check the creature tracker before you set out.

Mantises are natural-born hunters. Many adore them for their clean hunting technique and eccentric appearance, making them an extremely popular species of insect.

To everyone's surprise, however, there has been plenty of evidence proving that the handsome mantis shares common ancestry with the repulsive cockroach.
