Bond, Gifts and Neighbor Talents in Petit Planet

How bond works in Petit Planet: daily chats, gift values, dinners, talents and the Bond 6 Homi Decor unlock.

In this system

Bond is the long-term relationship meter between you and an invite neighbor. It is not a combat stat. It unlocks small conveniences, story moments, house decoration requests and a few very good gifts.

The important thing to understand is the daily rhythm: most bond sources are once per real-time day, based on the server reset. You cannot grind a neighbor by chatting fifty times.

The short version

  • Bond is only available for invite neighbors, not the five base story neighbors.
  • Chat once a day for 1–2 bond.
  • Give one gift a day. Loved gifts are usually worth 2–4; liked gifts 1–2; neutral gifts 1.
  • Dinner invites add 1–2 bond and unlock after the relevant story progress.
  • Bond 5 and 8 typically unlock talents. Bond 6 unlocks Homi Decor for that neighbor.
  • A disliked gift is refused, but it does not lower bond. You can safely test.

How bond points work

Action Bond Limit
Chat 1–2 First chat of the day
Loved gift 2–4 One gift per day
Liked gift 1–2 One gift per day
Neutral gift 1 One gift per day
Requested Glenn’s Goods item 4 When the neighbor mentions it in chat
Dinner invite 1–2 Once unlocked; one invite
Neighbor vignette / daily interaction Varies Per activity
Homi Decor request Varies Per request

These values are from the Final Beta. The exact roll can vary by neighbor and item, which is why the gift range is 2–4 rather than a single number.

Do not waste a gift slot on a guess. Open the gift finder, pick the neighbor, and give a loved item. If you are testing an unknown item, a disliked reaction only refuses the gift — it does not damage the relationship.

Gift categories

Neighbors have three preference layers:

  1. Loves — specific items. These are the best daily gifts and the safest source of 2–4 bond.
  2. Likes — broader tags such as “Green”, “Wood”, “Farm Decor” or “Grilled Dish”. A qualifying item gives 1–2 bond.
  3. Dislikes — specific items or tags. The neighbor refuses the gift and lets you choose again.

Some neighbors also have a requested item they saw at Glenn’s Goods. Giving that exact item is worth 4 bond, the highest single gift value in the beta.

Bond levels and talents

Bond levels are neighbor-specific. The common pattern in the Final Beta is:

  • Bond 2 — first passive or shop talent for some neighbors.
  • Bond 4 — a second talent or a crafting unlock.
  • Bond 5 / 6 — the major convenience talent. Bond 6 also unlocks Homi Decor.
  • Bond 8 — a second major talent, often a production or garden feature.

Not every neighbor follows the same pattern. Check the individual profile for the exact levels. For example, Yunguo’s Water Crops talent is Bond 5 and her Crop Garden is Bond 8; Dorjelang’s hat box starts at Bond 2 and adds recipes at 4 and 6.

Homi Decor

At Bond 6, a settled neighbor can ask you to decorate their house. The system has two phases:

  • Basic — everyday furniture requests (seating, lighting, decorations).
  • Wish — specific pieces from the neighbor’s furniture set. It becomes available five days after the Basic set is completed.

Each set’s rewards can only be claimed once per neighbor. Satisfaction tiers at 3★, 4★ and 5★ give Dough and Bond Boosts. This is one of the few repeatable sources of Bond Boost items, so it is worth doing even if you do not care about the room.

What raises bond fastest?

A practical daily order:

  1. Chat once.
  2. Give a loved gift (or the requested Glenn’s Goods item).
  3. Complete any neighbor vignette or daily interaction on the planet.
  4. If Homi Decor is active, fulfil one request rather than hoarding furniture.
  5. Invite them to dinner when the option is available.

That is usually enough to make steady progress without turning the game into a checklist. If you want the full daily loop, use the daily checklist.

Base neighbors are different

Mobai, Elsasani, Glenn, Mors and Trixie settle through the story. They do not use neighbor capacity, do not have a standard bond meter, and cannot be gifted in the same way. Do not expect a Homi Decor room for them.

Sources and caveats

Bond values, talent levels and Homi Decor rewards are compiled from public community documentation of the Final Beta and checked against official descriptions where available. Launch balance may change. The individual neighbor profiles show the exact recorded values for each character.
