How to catch Common Mapwing
Use the Insect Net. The exact approach depends on the creature’s category and, for shore-dwellers, its species type.
- Equip the Insect Net and approach the creature at eye level or on the ground.
- Most insects can be caught with a simple net swipe; slow down if the species is skittish.
- Check tree trunks, flowers, shrubs, crops and aerial spaces — the habitat column tells you where this species spawns.
First catch: the creature is added to the Omnidex. Offer it to Mors at the Omni-Gallery to put it on display and unlock its Omnipedia entry.
Where and when to find it

Like real leaf veins, the intricate, vein-like patterns on any individual Common Mapwing's wings are just as unique.
However, distinguishing individuals by their wing patterns is far more difficult than telling leaves apart.
