How to catch Empress Butterfly

Use the Insect Net. The exact approach depends on the creature’s category and, for shore-dwellers, its species type.

1. Equip the Insect Net and approach the creature at eye level or on the ground.
2. Most insects can be caught with a simple net swipe; slow down if the species is skittish.
3. Check tree trunks, flowers, shrubs, crops and aerial spaces — the habitat column tells you where this species spawns.

Where and when to find it

The empress butterfly is a large butterfly that, contrary to the general impression, flies very quickly. Even dragonflies have trouble catching it.

But sometimes, it becomes so absorbed in drinking tree sap that it neglects its surroundings, falling right into the predator's trap.
