How to catch Hooksnout Carp

Use the Fishing Rod. The exact approach depends on the creature’s category and, for shore-dwellers, its species type.

1. Cast the Fishing Rod into the right water: rivers and lakes for freshwater fish, coastal waters for saltwater fish.
2. Wait for the nibbles, then strike when the line bites down.
3. Common freshwater fish and gray saltwater fish can usually be caught straight away after the bite.

The Hooksnout Carp's namesake "hooksnout" makes it "unstoppable" in the water. For a long time, it was believed that its aggressive hunting habits were a threat to commercial fish farming, resulting in the culling of the species.

But in reality, the Hooksnout Carp is rather small, and it only has a limited impact on other fish populations.
