Use the Shellfish Tongs. The exact approach depends on the creature’s category and, for shore-dwellers, its species type.

  1. Equip the Shellfish Tongs and search the intertidal zone along the beach.
  2. Approach crabs slowly. They scuttle away if you rush, and some hide under broken seashells or coral branches.

First catch: the creature is added to the Omnidex. Offer it to Mors at the Omni-Gallery to put it on display and unlock its Omnipedia entry.

Habitat: Intertidal Zone. Distribution: All Regions.

Season: Winter;Spring. Time: Daytime. Weather: Any Weather. If two of those tags are restrictive, check the creature tracker before you set out.
