How to catch Yellow Dappled Koi
Use the Fishing Rod. The exact approach depends on the creature’s category and, for shore-dwellers, its species type.
- Cast the Fishing Rod into the right water: rivers and lakes for freshwater fish, coastal waters for saltwater fish.
- Wait for the nibbles, then strike when the line bites down.
- Higher-quality saltwater fish need a slow reel-in. Keep the line from snapping instead of holding the button down.
First catch: the creature is added to the Omnidex. Offer it to Mors at the Omni-Gallery to put it on display and unlock its Omnipedia entry.

The Yellow Dappled Koi is a variant of the common koi.
Its striking colors and patterns grant it a special cultural status, but this doesn't alter its biological definition.
In other words, if you really wanted to, it could still make for a delicious dish.
