Petit Planet Starsea Voyage Guide
How Starsea Voyages work in Petit Planet: zones, islets, encounter neighbors, crew specialties and a practical packing list.
In this system
The Starsea Voyage is the game’s exploration loop. You leave your planet, sail to a galaxy zone, and visit islets. Some islets are ordinary resource stops. Others are encounter islets where a specific neighbor can be met for the first time.
Voyages are also where many creatures, materials and neighbor stories live. If you only stay home, you will miss a large part of the game.
Zones and islets
The Final Beta refers to galaxy zones such as Hexia H83, Hexia H84 and Taffeh T31. Each zone has a pool of islets. The islet determines the scenery, the creature pool and, for encounter islets, the neighbor who can appear.
Your starting zone depends on the galaxy you choose: Hexia starts with H83, Taffeh with T31. The other starting zone is unlocked by visiting a Starmigo who has settled in the other galaxy. Seasonal zones sit under Hexia or Taffeh; they remain explorable after the event, but the event-specific neighbor encounters do not.
Encounter islets are not guaranteed. A neighbor can fail to show up even after you have explored the zone. The reliable part is persistence: sail again, check the islets, and repeat.
The two-meeting invitation flow
- First meeting — meet the neighbor on their specific encounter islet. They are added to the Starcove at Bond 1, with a basic gift overview.
- Second meeting — after the first meeting, they can appear on any islet, not just their original one. This is the step that unlocks a visit.
- Visit and mini-quest — invite them to your planet, complete their short quest. They usually jump to Bond 3.
- Settle — ask them to move in, provided you have neighbor capacity.
Do not expect to finish a neighbor in one voyage. The two-meeting structure is deliberate.
Known encounter neighbors
The table below lists the encounter locations recorded in the Final Beta. “Undocumented islet” means the islet name was not recorded in the data we reviewed — not that the neighbor is unavailable.
| Neighbor | Galaxy / zone | Encounter islet |
|---|---|---|
| Dorjelang | Hexia H83 | Duskshore Islet |
| Isaki | Hexia H83 | Insect Chorus Islet |
| Manna | Hexia H83 | Undocumented islet |
| Msafiri | Taffeh T31 | Undocumented islet |
| Harpeno | Taffeh T31 | Patrol Crossing Islet |
| Tika | Taffeh T31 | Fruit-Laden Islet |
| Yunguo | Story task | Welcoming a Visitor from Afar |
| Medowlyn / Rebella / Heyu | Hexia H84 seasonal event | Seasonal voyage |
Some neighbors are introduced through story tasks rather than a voyage. Check the individual profiles for the full list.
Crew specialties
Neighbors have voyage specialties such as:
- Bug-Catching Enthusiast / Expert
- Fishing Enthusiast / Expert
- Harvest Enthusiast / Expert
- Beachcombing Enthusiast / Expert
- Mining Enthusiast / Expert
- Woodcutting Enthusiast / Expert
A ★ marker indicates a stronger specialty. The exact numeric bonus is not published, so treat the labels as a guide to who to bring for a resource-focused trip, not a guaranteed multiplier.
Some neighbors also have a weakness (for example, “struggles with fishing”). That does not prevent them from joining; it just makes them a less efficient choice for that activity.
A practical voyage checklist
- Check the creature tracker for the season, time and weather of the species you still need.
- Bring a neighbor whose specialty matches your goal.
- Clear the islet’s creature spots before you leave; some species are islet-only.
- Talk to any neighbor you meet, even if you are not ready to invite them. The first meeting is permanent progress.
- Bank materials and creatures before the voyage ends. Do not assume everything can be retrieved later.
What is still unclear
The launch version may change zone names, islet pools and encounter rates. The beta also had a seasonal event structure (Hexia H84) that may not return in the same form. We mark those as beta-specific rather than promising they will be identical at launch.
