Petit Planet Starsea Voyage: Islets & Encounters
Plan a Petit Planet Starsea Voyage: which neighbor specialties to bring, how encounter islets work, and what to collect before you return.
In this guide
A Starsea Voyage is not a dungeon run. It is a day trip with a crew, a destination and a list of things you hope to bring home. The better you plan, the less time you spend sailing in circles.
This guide is the planning version. For the system rules, see Starsea Voyage.
Before you sail
- Pick a goal. New neighbor, specific creature, materials, or just exploration. Each goal changes the crew and the islets you prioritise.
- Check the creature tracker. Filter by region, season, time and weather. If the creature you want is not active, do not build the trip around it.
- Bring a matching neighbor. A Fishing Expert is more useful on a water-heavy islet than a Mining enthusiast.
- Empty your bag. Voyages fill your inventory quickly. Bank or sell junk before you leave.
- Check capacity. If you are hoping to invite someone, make sure you have a slot.
Your starting zone depends on your galaxy: Hexia begins with H83, Taffeh with T31. To unlock the other starting zone, visit a Starmigo who has settled in the other galaxy. Seasonal zones remain available after their event, but the event-specific neighbor encounters do not.
Encounter islets
Encounter islets are the ones tied to a specific neighbor. The Final Beta examples:
- Hexia H83 — Duskshore Islet (Dorjelang), Insect Chorus Islet (Isaki).
- Taffeh T31 — Patrol Crossing Islet (Harpeno), Fruit-Laden Islet (Tika).
- Hexia H84 — seasonal event islets for Medowlyn, Rebella and Heyu.
The encounter is not guaranteed. If the neighbor does not appear, finish the islet and sail again later. The first meeting is the only one tied to the specific islet; the second can happen anywhere.
Crew specialties
The useful labels in the Final Beta:
| Specialty | Best for |
|---|---|
| Fishing Enthusiast / Expert | Water islets, fish collection |
| Bug-Catching Enthusiast / Expert | Insect collection |
| Beachcombing Enthusiast / Expert | Shore-dwellers and beach loot |
| Mining Enthusiast / Expert | Ore and stone |
| Woodcutting Enthusiast / Expert | Wood and tree resources |
| Harvest Enthusiast / Expert | Crops and foraging |
A ★ indicates a stronger specialty. The exact bonus is not published, so use the label as a role guide. If a neighbor “struggles with” an activity, they can still come; they are just not the optimal pick for that trip.
What to collect
Prioritise in this order:
- New creatures — the Omnidex entry is permanent.
- Encounter neighbors — the first meeting is permanent progress.
- Islet-specific materials — some are not available on the main planet.
- Duplicate creatures — for sale or gallery display.
- Cosmetic resources — only if you are actively decorating.
Do not leave without checking the islet’s creature spots. Some species are islet-only and may not appear on your next trip.
A sample voyage plan
Goal: meet Tika and catch a Taffeh fish.
- Crew: a Fishing Enthusiast plus a Beachcombing enthusiast.
- Destination: Taffeh T31, Fruit-Laden Islet.
- Time: daytime, any weather (check the target fish first).
- Tasks: clear the islet, talk to Tika, catch the target fish, bank materials.
- Contingency: if Tika does not appear, complete the islet and sail again; do not abandon the trip.
What can go wrong
- The neighbor does not appear. Normal. Sail again.
- The creature is out of season. Check the tracker before you go.
- Your bag is full. Bank before sailing.
- You forgot a gift. Bring one loved item for the neighbor you hope to meet.
- You have no capacity. The visit still works, but the settle step will be blocked.
