How to catch Owl Butterfly

Use the Insect Net. The exact approach depends on the creature’s category and, for shore-dwellers, its species type.

1. Equip the Insect Net and approach the creature at eye level or on the ground.
2. Most insects can be caught with a simple net swipe; slow down if the species is skittish.
3. Check tree trunks, flowers, shrubs, crops and aerial spaces — the habitat column tells you where this species spawns.

Where and when to find it

The owl butterfly, as its name suggests, has wing patterns that mimic the appearance of an owl to scare away predators.

Of course, they have no way of knowing their wings look like owls. If anything, this "winning pattern" just happened to emerge this way through generations of natural selection.
