How to catch Whitetail Dascyllus
Use the Fishing Rod. The exact approach depends on the creature’s category and, for shore-dwellers, its species type.
- Cast the Fishing Rod into the right water: rivers and lakes for freshwater fish, coastal waters for saltwater fish.
- Wait for the nibbles, then strike when the line bites down.
- Higher-quality saltwater fish need a slow reel-in. Keep the line from snapping instead of holding the button down.
First catch: the creature is added to the Omnidex. Offer it to Mors at the Omni-Gallery to put it on display and unlock its Omnipedia entry.

Coral Zone · Dascyllus aruanus
Whitetail dascyllus are popular saltwater aquarium fish.
They are highly competitive among themselves. When a group of similarly sized dascyllus gather in a body of water, the strongest will gradually grow larger and become male.
This transformation is one of the joys of keeping the species.
